Session Overview

When you've got a huge amount of theory and aural knowledge floating around in your head, the hardest part can be knowing what you actually need to know, how it connects and how to retrieve it under pressure. This session is about making the content feel more manageable and building practical strategies for recalling and applying what you know. In this session, we’ll cover: • Organising the theory and aural concepts you need to know • Making connections between related musical concepts • Strategies for remembering information rather than simply rereading it • Approaching aural questions with a clear process • What to listen for when identifying musical features • Connecting what you hear to the terminology you know • Strategies for dealing with unfamiliar examples • Applying theory and aural knowledge to exam-style questions • What to prioritise in your final revision You’ll leave with: ✓ A more organised approach to your theory and aural revision ✓ Practical strategies for retrieving information ✓ A clearer process for approaching aural questions ✓ A better understanding of how the concepts connect 60 minutes · Live online via Google Meet This session is designed for students preparing for the VCE Music Contemporary Performance written/aural exam.
