In this session, we’ll cover: • What to listen and look for when analysing music • How to identify the musical evidence that actually matters • How to approach an unfamiliar excerpt without feeling overwhelmed • Where to start when you’re faced with a written response • Turning observations into clear musical explanations • Structuring responses so you can communicate your ideas efficiently • Strategies for working when you're short on time • Common traps that can make responses longer without making them stronger • Practice applying the strategies to exam-style questions You’ll leave with: ✓ A clearer process for approaching analysis questions ✓ Strategies for finding useful evidence in an excerpt ✓ A practical approach to structuring responses ✓ Greater confidence in getting your ideas onto the page efficiently 60 minutes · Live online via Google Meet This session is designed for students preparing for the VCE Music Contemporary Performance written/aural exam.
